Last year, I made a decision to join the Webmasters Guild, a club committed to making and updating the High School website. This afternoon during club time, we dedicated the period to typing. We typed everything essential for a website, most copied exactly off the handbook. After that, I asked them to type the names of the Club Members of each club. I know it sounds difficult, but this is the first time I actually asked them to do something, and typing is not difficult.
All the weight is on me and Archie. I take care of the Flash Version and I have to make sure everyone is doing their respective jobs. Archie is incharge of the HTML Version and arranging my clubmates outputs. My clubmates dont understand the difficulty of making a website, all those sleepness nights, coding, reading every code one by one make sure its perfect. Not to mention all those animations to make the site look futuristic, thats for Flash. Archies job is difficult, coding HTML, pasting everything in, making sure every code is working properly, on top of that he has to make sure the HTML Version is "Dial-up friendly".
Which is why I was frustrated at club time this afternoon. The president of the club is the lazy one, complaining about everything, some of the members are complaining that its too long, some are asking philosophical questions, wherin all the answers are written on the white board, some are simply taking pleasure of my frustrations, and some are just surfing the internet.
By the end of that day, most were able to completely finish the work, some were simply too lazy to finish it prompting me, Jaco and Vince to finish their work for them. As much as I would love to torture them by letting them type it all over again, the deadline is on Friday already and the 4 of us (Jaco, Archie, Vince and me) are all staying late afterclasses, I think until 6 just to make sure that it will be ready by next week.
So guys, if everything goes well, we will see a spanking new HS Website by next week, or even this weekend. And if everything is going bad, the 4 of us get all the blame. Thats, how much weight has been placed on us, more like a matter of life and death. Cant blame them, its only the 4 of us working :P
