Shout out!

Listening to: The Calling - Camino Palmero Album and Two Album

Life plays so many cool tricks on us. Reversal of fortune, it’s the most wonderful feeling in the world, having a series of unfortunate events all turn around in a blink of an eye. I bet a lot of you have experienced that sweet sensation.

Last week, November 15, 2005, I and my friends auditioned for the LSGH Battle of the Band to be held on December 10, 2005 at the SJT. With all the hard work we put into practicing and master the song, maybe a little stroke of luck and a lot of prayers, we were accepted and are playing. To all those who are interested, please come and watch the show! It’s for free and show starts at 1:00 in the afternoon at the SJT. LSGH students are free but people from other schools just have to pay the entrance fee of, I don’t know how much but please do come and enjoy the show! Other bands performing are Peanut Brittle (a fellow second year band), All my Friends are Dead (Io is the guitarist of that band), Aleta Band Project (Mulawin, Joel, Palispis!), Dalandan Soda (The band with the saxophones), Silya Elektrika (I think their drummer is the drummer of Signum Fidelis), Birdland (Marty’s older brother is the guitarist) and Tito’s Ortiz (I think Gelo is the guitarist of that band). So I really hope you guys come and indulge yourself to an afternoon of music!

Oh yeah, the top 3 will play with Barbie, Sugarfree and Orange and Lemons the very same night. Tickets are priced at 250 I think, but it’s still a good show! So come and watch!

Oh yeah, a shout-out to a certain first year band, who right after the auditions said to us, rather indirectly though, “Wala na kayong pag-asa” or something that sounded like that. Thanks for pumping us up! Aside from that, the same band woke up Vince who was sleeping in the cafeteria a few days before the auditions. By the way, did you guys pass?

Down syndrome has been acting up again, I’ve slept early, I’ve slept in the afternoon yet I wake up late. I had to resort walking to school 5 times this week just because I woke up late. When I arrived home this afternoon, I found myself dropping my bag unto the floor and sleeping on the spot.

Well that’s basically it, I can’t think of anything else to write.

If I could, then I would, I’ll go wherever you will go!

Things I'm after

It’s hard to blog about a boring day. After all, who is interested to read how you slept, ate, beaten the CPU countless times in NBA Live or play the guitar? No one would want to read about that.

Anyway, I’ll talk about last night. I passed by National Bookstore at Shangrila to try and find something interesting to read, then I stumble upon a book which I will be saving up for, its entitled The Plot Against America. It’s about this guy who ran for President and beat Franklin Roosevelt in the 1940’s elections by landslide. Afterwards he and Hitler made a pact of some sort. Well, the plot seems interesting and I really am focusing on buying the book sometimes soon, perhaps after I read Phantom of the Opera and the Da Vinci Code. Or else I’ll never finish those two if I buy that now, not to mention the lack of funds for the book. Anyway just wanna share how cool that book is. Aside from that I also have my eyes set on The Inferno and The Three Musketeers. Hopefully I can find Romeo and Juliet as well.

Well, so much for a boring day. I just don’t feel like myself if I don’t do anything. I mean, yeah rest is essential, but I think an hour a day of rest is quite enough already. I can’t stand sitting in front of the computer waiting for something to happen, or just sitting on my reading chair waiting for something interesting. Well, if you are like this, indeed you are a workaholic.

But, the hangover of yesterdays excite upon learning that we passed is still here, and I don’t think it will leave anytime soon.

5 o'clock rainbow

My day was more like a Cinderella story. A series of unfortunate events plagued my morning, from waking up late, losses at the CSA tournament and late for Aida. But I think these were simply reminders that life isn’t all fun. We need to face whatever is in store for us, and that’s when we make decisions, either what is right, or what is easy. Typically we would choose what is easy, and I have to admit it’s the easiest way, but is it the correct path? But anyway, my post is dedicated 30 minutes after Aida. I ask myself, when was the last time I actually leaped so high in the air just to show how happy I am? Yes, I do jump during DLSU vs ADMU games, but this is a very different kind of happiness. I was pushing through the thick crowd of second and fourth year students who have enjoyed Cue’s presentation of Aida, trying to get to the bulletin board at the back of the gym near staircase C of the High School building. I was walking through a thick crowd of people, and when they all cleared, I ran towards the bulletin board, over there I saw the bulletin.

We passed the auditions! I jumped so high and ran back to the auditorium trying to find someone to tell me if my eyes were not deceiving me, and that’s when I found Io where both us were so happy that our respective bands entered the battle of the bands. He leaped so high when seeing the bulletin, I took a picture of it and just couldn’t contain my happiness, I told everyone I knew! Afterwards I walked or ran around La Salle; I even went back to the bulletin board for a third time. I just couldn’t believe it!

On my way to Shangrila that evening, I looked out the window and saw a rainbow. It was around 5 o’clock in the afternoon. I smiled and looked at it, admiring its beauty as it slowly faded into the afternoon sky.

Searching for something to write! (Writers Block)

I’ve run out of ideas these past few days. I don’t know, was I having too much fun or there isn’t something to write about. I’ve always proclaimed how boring my life is, it’s the same every week; I go to school, sometimes stay until 6:30 where my mind blows up and all I wanna do is lie down on my bed waiting for tomorrow to arrive. Though I also go home occasionally at 4:20 but it’s still the same, a lie down and I watch the hours pass by. But despite these I have to find time to study, yes it may be difficult with the busy schedule at hand but isn’t that the essence why I go to school? Yes I’m frustrated with myself; my report card was ruined by my lack of effort in Math, and because of that I didn’t make the Honor Roll. I control my destiny, and my grade in Math is my fault.

Anyway I’m still happy with today, while seated in the classroom waiting for my mom to arrive I was searching for ideas, something to blog.

LSGH Auditions:

This was very much awaited. We practiced so hard for this and even made our own derivation. But it went through well; I don’t think we caught any problems during the performance but yeah it was really nice, I think our best audition so far, compared to ICA and SHS.

Interaction with St. Scholastica

You don’t know how fun that day was. The class enjoyed it so much that we want to turn time and just go back! It started with the Human Bingo then the big circle thing where in we talk to every girl one by one. Afterwards we had the classroom experience then the intermission numbers and finally the note writing at the back of every student. I met so much new friends there, so many names forgotten and thoughts shared, but so many experiences treasured together.

Band Practices

We had two band practices in the past week, November 11 and 14 and we practiced our derived version of Love Song by Anberlin. 311 and The Cure’s version is too slow and we wanted a rock-alternative effect so we got Anberlin’s version and made so much modifications. Jet on guitar made it sound better, making Ogie concentrate on his vocalist assignments, Jaco made some cool lead parts and Jet made the song sound a bit more progressive. I on the keyboards studied some lead portions and make the song sound better. Archie on bass made the song sound really solid and Vince on drums, adding some cool drum stuff completed the puzzle.

Someone said I’m always on the run, and it seems that the person who said that was right. I have caught myself excessively busy these past few days. I complained to Coach Jojo why I shouldn’t attend the PRADA game because I know I wouldn’t play didn’t work. I need to update the HS Website and some other school related things. I also went to La Salle last Sunday for my SBMA volunteer work. This morning I went to La Salle to fix the Power Point then the Auditions. Afterwards I just stayed in the classroom waiting for my mom to arrive. But still I am very busy. I slept going home and slept at home. I forgot to pass by Shangrila to buy so many things. Damn! I just can’t stay out of school can I? Well look at my picture in the lobby and maybe that’s the prize I get for being so active :D

Sabaw Week

A series of unfortunate events have been hapening. I've been surounded by bad luck for the past few days and its really effecting my performance.

Saturday Morning
SHS Auditions
Such a great practice and such a nasty result. We called ourselves "sabaw" right after the performance. Damn, its D-Dmaj7-D6-Dmaj7-Amaj7-A-G! I forgot the chord pattern, well so did Jaco :P All of us had our own set of mistakes and in a way contributed to our sub-par performance last Saturday. Damn it.

Saturday Afternoon
English Project (Day 1)
After I finished reading the book I was stuck in Microsoft Word for at least 3 hours typing, ereasing, typing, deleting, typing, changing and I just couldnt find the right way to talk about The Hundred Secret Senses. Eventually I was able to come up with 2 paragraphs after 3 hours of wondering in my head for the right set of words.

Saturday Evening
Chess Boo-Boo
If you lose 3 consecutive times, despite a very big lead, you know something is wrong, something is definately wrong! My mind is no longer workign properly, meltdown!

Sunday Morning
Sleep... Sleep... Sleep!
After I woke up, I slept again. during lunch I slept, and after lunch I slept, great something is wrong with me!

Sunday Afternoon
English Project (Part 2)
I decided to fininsh it during the afternoon, but ended up intentionally deleting the entire thing and starting all over. Damn my midn isnt working right!

NBA Live Madness
I spent Sunday morning enjoying a few games of NBA Live 06, and to tell you that truth, even if I won those games, I am not in shape. The last time I gave up 20 points in a single quarter was when I was still getting used to NBA Live. Plus I usually develop an early 20 point lead.

Duty-full
Aside from that we went to Duty Free since mom just arrived from the states. I was bored and would stay away from my parents who unknowingly are embarassing me in public.
"Hey! That jacket is very very La Salle! Jio? Jio? Where are you?" in a loud voice

Sunday Evening
No time.. don't care anymore!
Okay, I finished my project in English and didnt care how it sounded as long as it made a point, very "un-jiolike". I also cut our class ID pics into 2x2, by myself. Took me a good 45 mins to finish it.

School
Morning Ceremony
I know I would occasionally make mistakes while reading the Gospel, but this mistake was to obvious. I think I also hit the mic on the side of the Benilde accidentally.

CL Class
I would recite, but didnt give very good answers, damn it! :((

Chess Practice
Yes, losing 3 in a row hurts, DAMN IT!

Basically, thats it. I'm just waiting a few more days for more bad luck and im bracing for it. Right now, Im just making sure that my grades will not get affected! Im losing appetite, food in the cafeteria just increased prices, and I'm still sick! How I wish I can fly up to cloud 9 for a single day :) I remember the last time that really happened was when DLSU bagged the Championship in 2004, I perfected all my quizes the next day, I won 8 consecutive Yahoo! Chess Games and nothing, even the constant favors my mom asked me that day could ruin the day I reached cloud 9!

The next 2 days...

I have always seen myself as someone who always looks into the future, no matter how far away it is. I have already decided the college and course im taking (DLSU Computer Science), my plans for next years High School website is in my head already, what I should do during the intrams etc. These are all planned acordingly and very early. Tomorrow and Saturday is no exception.

Tomorrow we are set to have our all important band practice for the SHS Auditions on Saturday. Jaco worked his butt off deriving his own Jingle Bell Rock for the band to play during the auditions. Archie worked on the bass line and rhythm while Vince worked on the drums. As for me, just practice. I tried to make a keyboard riff but maybe the guitar sounds better, anyway I can always make one on the spot. Expectations are pretty high for tomorrows practice, hopefully we can pass the auditions on Saturday...

Tomorrow evening sleepover at Archies, now I wonder how the hell I will wake up tomorrow. Me and Jaco under one roof is mayhem, add Vince or Archie and its worse, add both how the hell can we sleep? And if Ogie decided to join the parade I dont think we will be able to sleep, unless we find a way to discipline ourselves, which is really impossible. Ryan (Achie's older brother) will be there and most likely be up till 3 am, how can we sleep? I remember the last time we were together we all slept ar around 5 or 6 am, until now I wonder why did we still sleep?

And hopefully we pass the auditions on Saturday. Sana naman! :D

I should stop thinking of the future...

Last night at the airport || Sem Break!

Last night at the airport, I was seated on the pavement waiting for the car to arrive, and then I see this man, he looked kinda Chinese and seemed to bein his 50's or so. By how he dressed he looked as if his trip was buisness related. But, as I was seated on the pavement, his car came by and the driver came out. By the looks of the car and the uniform of the driver, I can infer he was very wealthy. I saw him frowning and shouting at the driver

Chinese Guy (CG) : Bakit ngayon ka lang?
Driver : Sorry sir, matagal kasi umikot eh, at may inspection pa dun sa harap
CG: Sampung minuto na ako nagiintay dito, pinapahintay mo ako? Dapat nauuna ka sa akin, dapat andito ka pag labas ko!

I wonder what happened to the driver afterwards. That chinese guy didnt have any consideration towards the driver, I mean why will you scold someone and it really isn't his fault? If he was an hour late then thats a different story, but that man failed to take notice the other causes of that really short delay. In fact, I dont think he was standing there for 10 mins. What did that driver do to deserve that? Its not his fault that the secuirty guards inspect each car or how far the U-turn is from the airport, you really cant blame him. Some people are so inconsiderate and senseless, and that particular guy is one of them. Yes he may have a lot of money, but he doesnt even show some compassion towards the driver. That guy didnt seem to have any values at all.

A warning to all those very rich in society, sure you may have the money and power, but if you dont have the right attitiude, that power and wealth is nothing. But this doesnt apply to all those rich people out there, I know a lot of people who are so generous and considerate who are very wealthy. :)

I know its really late but hey, its the Sem Break! The time of the year when I should stop thinking about school, and so far very unsuccessful. With the homework given to us over the break, its not hard to see why. But, thats the reason why the word CRAM exists :) Go figure

Just got back from Bacolod last night, and it's great to be home. Until now I wonder how the hell did I survive 3 days without internet? 3 days without NBA Live 2006? 3 days without my computer? Well its simple, Hundred Secret Senses by Amy Tan got me very preoccupied during my short visit. Every idle time I had, I spent it with the book, which really means that I didn't do anything there except read, sleep and eat.

Got an extra 512 MB DDR Memory for the computer, which gives me a total of 768 MB of Memory for the computer! Yeah! I can play NBA in Maximum Graphics, run Limewire, Bit Torrent, Mozilla with 10 tabs and Windows Media Player without lagging! Yeah!

Band practice on Friday for the SHS auditions this Saturday, hope we can pass it!

Someone went to EK today, nainggit tuloy ako... it was around 11:00 and I was on my way to the clinic when that person texted me that they were going, and I was busy going to the clinic :P

Sorry have'nt been blogging lately, cant find anything to talk about.
