Year Ender

Quickly, before the school year ends, let’s travel down memory lane and relive some things that happened last year…

Firsts!

  • First Homeroom – I remember during the first few weeks of Homeroom I became Mr. Lobo’s utusan. I remember one time that before he would ask me to do something I was already outside on my way to the work area.
  • First Social Science Class – I don’t really recall this one, all I remember was the usual what do you expect from Asian History. Significantly this is the first academic subject of the year.
  • First Math Class – I knew Ms. Alona already because she substituted for us for a quarter when I was in first year. If I remember correctly I had difficulty understanding Math, and until now it hasn’t changed.
  • First Filipino Class – This one I remember so vividly. It’s when Mr. Lobo starts with his can of Royal Tru Orange and drops it on the floor and starts explaining the can-is-full-the-can-is-empty-the-can-is-half-full stuff. I remember I based the EDSOR Symbolism on that.
  • First Science Class – Ms. Alvie used to be the adviser of 2F so during first year we knew it would be her whenever we go to her classroom. I don’t remember my first Science class though.
  • First English Class – Don’t underachieve was the statement here, I remember that as if it was yesterday. I also remember when Ms. Kate started calling out our names, she asked me if I was in the honors class, I said no, then she asked if I came from 1F, I said yes.
  • First Rhetoric Class – No Rules! No rule was the theme except “Don’t do unto other what you don’t want them to do unto you”. That summarized everything about the first day of Rhetoric. This would also be our final subject this school year.
  • First CL Class – I just don’t remember, all I knew was that Ms. Belinda used to be the Campus Ministry Coordinator of the GS Department back when I was Grade 5 so I already knew her a bit.

So many things happened this year:

  • Kisig Lasalyano – I was in production, the video editing, picture taking anything that involves the computer I did it and I did enjoy it. It was pretty successful, watch out for a better one next year!
  • Power Point… Power Point… Power Point – This is the first time I did so much power point presentations either for the class, for our projects or for someone else, counting it all up I have more than 5000 slides here.
  • Last Band Standing – Oh this was great, our first real school gig! Too bad we didn’t hit the top 3.
  • TPA Week – No pressure! We really enjoyed it and would like to thank again everyone who came over to watch.
  • Teachers Day – I prepared a video presentation for the teachers, anti-climactic daw ako :P
  • SACB Elections – I lost, but as the saying goes, you win some you lose some.
  • Morning Boys Bossing – The post Carag era leaves the oldest member of the Morning boys as the new bossing as we would like to call it. Io described me as the new generation, Loser daw si Carag ako hindi. Anyway, tomorrow Alma Mater!
  • Morning Boys Leaving – These are the guys that trained me when I was in first year. It started off with my legs constantly shaking while reading the gospel, right now it’s already a habit! I’ll really miss them, Io, Jason, Jon, Dondi, JV and Gerard. Good luck to you guys in college!

I guess that summarizes the year; what a great year! I just hope that it all gets better next year. I’ll really miss everyone.
